QUINCY — A successful retirement is about more than financial stability.
An upcoming event geared toward people approaching retirement, the recently retired or anyone interested in supporting Alzheimer’s research will offer strategies to get more out of life after the work is done.
Kennedy Wealth Group is coordinating the Baby Boomers Bucket List Forum. The event will be April 6 at the Town and Country Inn and Suites, 110 N. 54th. General admission and registration will be at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple. Money raised will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Becky Kueker, a retired Arizona architect and author of “Hiding in My Pajamas,” will deliver the keynote address about her experience with aging and the challenges she faces along the way.
“She is a pretty engaging speaker,” said Jeff Kennedy, senior financial adviser and founder of Kennedy Wealth Group, “but it’s not just about entertainment. A lot of people have their identity wrapped up in their job. Planning a successful retirement is about more than just money. A successful retirement is gauged by happiness.”
Kennedy hopes to have 200 to 250 in attendance.
“It will be a light-hearted, fun evening, and we’ll be raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association,” he said. “Alzheimer’s is a cause that’s been near and dear to our firm for several years now.”
Kennedy describes his firm as a “full-service boutique financial firm.”
“This cause goes hand in hand with what we do,” he said of the April 6 forum. “We mitigate risks to make sure people don’t run out of money.”
Seating for the event is limited. Tickets may be purchased online at bucketlistevent.com or by calling 217-221-1300.
