Why Boomers Screwed Their Kids

http://www.splinterbook.com Baby Boomers have saddled their children and grandchildren with unfunded liabilities they racked up. The bill their kids have to pay is looming, and it’s huge. It will cut deeply into the quality of life their children will enjoy, their ability to have a family of their own, and will surely lead to the destruction of social programs and entitlements that could be there for them. Not only did they leave them a financial mess, they destroyed their mind by instilling an entitlement mentality. This commentary video talks about why the Boomers did it, and what their kids should do about it.

Now we're now seeing the permanent destruction of infrastructure to be scrapped and sent overseas along with the factories. I was raised by my children of the Depression parents to abhor debt.  I remember the attitude shift regarding debt occurring in the 70s.

Unfortunately the younger generations are apathetic themselves and so distracted by their smartphones that they dont care either. In a world where most people confuse cheap money and debt with wealth and where everyone consequently knows the price of everything and the value of nothing, it's going to take a financial collapse before most people start waking up and even then I'm not so sure.

I find narcissism to be the cultural mindset of most baby boomers which is due towards being handed a very generous life. It's why they attack the victims and people who see through their flowery lies. People are supposed to go through stages to lead a fulfilling life, but many boomers hit a peak of fun, ease, and excitement that they don't want to end. They never want to get old, be undesirable, and have to be that wise elder they fought against as counter-culture youth. But in doing so they have forced younger generations to essentially deal with being taught and controlled by adult children. They will go to their graves sucking the life out of others and never accepting that they can do wrong.

I abandoned my baby-boomer parents. No way am I going to help them in old age with how little they cared about their children. Selfish, entitled, narcissistic, if they don't give a shit neither will I. Its been one year and feels wonderfully free.

Great video! As a 22 year old, I can't tell you how aggravating and disappointing it is to even TRY to get ahead in life in today's society.. even working two jobs, 45+ hours a week, I still can't even afford a mediocre lifestyle.. Not all baby boomers are to blame, but when they try to blame us I think it's just complete BS. Not only were they the ones who raised us, but they just seem like now they don't care about anything about themselves.. I would LOVE for all of us to come together as a people to fix this country..but unfortunately it's still the baby boomers who hold the power in the white house..and the majority of kids they raised won't care about the world either.. I feel quite helpless sometimes in this vicious cycle of society now..it's going to take a BIG wake up call for us to get out of this mess, my friends.

Everything you said hits hard for me. The ambivalence of my parents is incredible. My adopted sister committed suicide 6 years ago, and Im pretty sure my parents don't miss her in this slightest and call her an alcoholic. They also have ample money but I lived in the most ghetto city in the state and only got help after I had to watch my friend die in front of me. Still, yes, they are very much in the mindset of "fuck you, as long as I get my regular wine & dinner at the end of the night'

Not a baby boomer, but we need to understand them. One the GI generation, was in war fighting for our freedom. When they came back home, they made kids (Baby-Boomers ). Prior to living in the great depression. As a result of these things, their parents suffered a double whammy. They never catered to the boomers. Sounds familiar? Millennials? The difference between them (BB) , and the generation their raising the millennials. They contributed to society unlike Generation Whiners did lol. That is why the boomers, can't stand millennials. When they raise them in the world. They're embarrassed by the generation y. They had to compete society. And Millennials not so much, they were handed out everything to them. It's the boomer way of saying, I am not talking with you . You've embarrassed me way too much with your behavior and mediocrity . And we lied about saying that you are special. And how's the riots are going.

The only hope for my and future generations is for the system to collapse to where the debt and the systems of control are written off. Economies have a natural tendency to want to reset every so often when the system has become too bloated, complex, and is infested with bubbles but as always the boomers think they can change how nature works by rigging the markets. Just look at it now and see how impressive the shit storm of economic misery that is about to hit.

All that I have to say to the boomers when the crash hits is "feel the burn".
